The gentle movement and stretches I outlined in your guide are perfect for the tension that builds up over time. This is felt as a general stiffness across your neck and upper back.

But sometimes a specific area gets tensed up resulting in a kink or a muscle knot. Initially when this would happen to me, I’d try to stretch it out. But then I learned that first you need to help it relax. If it’s an area you can reach easily and you can get enough pressure, then self massage works!

But if not, then in this video I’ll show you how to use the wall and the floor to roll out those hard to reach areas using a ball.
