10-Minute Relaxing Stretch — Deep Release for Your Hips

Looking for a deep release for your hips? How about a moment to unwind? Then you’ve come to the right place. In just 10 minutes you’ll let go of tightness with this relaxing reclined stretch using the wall for support.

This gentle hip-opening yoga sequence is perfect for the end of the day or anytime you need to let go of stress and stiffness.

Doing these stretches against the wall allows you to completely let go. Your whole body can relax, meaning you’ll be able to stretch more effectively, and you’ll also feel more calm. This is one of my all time favourite routines for a deep hip release.

And since tight hips can contribute to lower back pain, stretching them out can also offer a relief from lower back pain.

With soothing background music, you’ll be guided through calm, supported poses that provide a deep release of your hips, glutes, and inner thighs — all while lying down and fully supported by the wall.

Find the right distance from the wall

The closer your bum is to the wall the more intense the stretches will be. Start out a little away from the wall, and if it’s too much gently use your feet to push against the wall to move a little further away. If it’s not enough, shimmy yourself a little closer.
